Colours of a Kind NPC is a South African impact-driven non-profit organisation who believe in empowerment and inclusion of women through employment and entrepreneurship that will ultimately lead to financial independence.
By joining forces, The Fashion Institute and Colours of a Kind are pursuing our mutual passion and purpose: to create highly employable graduates for the garment technology industry, and/or who can become leading sustainable entrepreneurs.
WHO CAN APPLY:
This programme is open to South African women aged 18-35 who do not have the financial means to study full time.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Full bursary to study “One Year General Education & Training Certificate in Clothing Manufacturing Process”
All programme fees will be paid for by Colours of a Kind including registration fee, tuition, starter-kit and fabrics
A dedicated Colours of a Kind studio
A sewing machine assigned to you for the duration of the programme
A small class of 12 ensuring personal attention
Extracurricular activities, such as field trips, factory visits and workshops
One-on-one coaching and mentorship
A new group of friends and network of like-minded women

The Fashion Institute of Garment Technology provides fundamental training that is responsive to the needs within the manufacturing and design sector. The centre produces highly skilled trained professionals with thorough knowledge of the garment technology principles of pattern making and garment construction as well as foundational fashion and design principles.
This knowledge enables graduates to be highly employable in the fashion industry, and to become leading sustainable entrepreneurs in their community.
